Ballinderry River Trust

Once again, St. Mary’s Primary School took part in a unique classroom project to help restore the Ballinderry River to its past glory.
In Term 2, Primary 7 with the help of Frank and Jillian set up a small hatchery in the classroom allowing the children to monitor the water conditions daily and to watch the trout eggs hatch. The children enjoyed being hatchery managers and we are delighted to report that all eggs survived and were successfully released into our local river.
What a wonderful experience for our children to be involved in this important conservation work ??.
