Numeracy Fun in Primary 1!
In Primary 1, we've been having a lot of fun with numbers! We started by learning about ordinal numbers - terms like "1st," "2nd," and "3rd." We did this by running races and lining up with labels showing who came in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. It was a great way to see how ordinal numbers work in real life.
Next, we explored symmetry by making beautiful symmetrical butterflies. Everyone loved mixing art and math to see how shapes can be the same on both sides.
Our young mathematicians engaged in lively discussions with their peers about their favorite farm animals. These conversations were more than just fun; they were a precursor to recording this information accurately on graphs. This exercise helped introduce them to data collection and representation.
Our aim is to make numeracy as interactive and fun as possible, fostering a love for learning that will carry our students throughout their educational journey. We're so proud of the progress they've made so far and can't wait to see how they continue to grow and thrive in their understanding of numbers. Stay tuned for more updates!
